Cardhu Distillery on Speyside is a Johnny Walker Brand Home that we designed with BRC for Diageo. Set within a group of historic buildings the ambience and scale is more hospitality than visitor centre. Lighting creates warmth and intimacy accenting the historic features of the building. In addition to carefully specified decorative lighting, spotlighting is sited unobtrusively to create accents. There is an AV room that has atmospheric house lighting coordinated with the AV projections, a tasting room and a prestige tasting room with programmed lighting, setting the whisky as the star of a show.

The lighting is controlled by DALI for most of the spaces with DMX employed in the AV space to integrate with the AV system. We specified a 5 colour LED fitting in the AV room to closely match light colour with the AV and an LED grow light for some live barley in the tour stop area to maintain its growth indoors.
